Gather ‘round as I spin ye a yarn o’ grand folly from the hallowed halls of the U.S. Senate! ‘Twas a day like no other, when the scallywags in fancy suits decided to let banks plunder the pockets o’ landlubbers with fees fit for a pirate’s treasure chest!On a fine Wednesday, the Senate, led by the crafty Sen. Tim Scott from the land of South Carolina, heaved a bill overboard—one aimed at freeing the banks from the chains o’ reason imposed by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, or as I like to call it, the CFPB! Under the previous captain, Joe Biden, they dared to cap them overdraft fees to a measly five doubloons! But nay, the senators declared, “Let the banks feast!”
So, with a hearty cheer, they voted along party lines, settin’ the stage for the banks to charge their customers as much as they please when they be sailin’ low on doubloons! Aye, it seems the only ones who’ll be walkin’ the plank here are the poor souls with empty coffers! A fine day for buccaneers in suits, but a dark storm brews for the common folk! Arrr!
