News and Updates for Swashbucklers Everywhere

Arrr, I be a swashbucklin' Black lass, holdin' a Harvard law parchment. Yet, even I be silenced by Big Tech scallywags!

2023-07-22

Me tongue be tied by the scurvy 'tolerance and inclusion' rabble. I dared to voice me thoughts on a contentious matter, but they silenced me! Aye, 'twas a sight to behold, a tale so shocking and ironic it'd make a bilge rat chuckle in his sleep!

Recently, the author published an article on Medium discussing the impact of transgender inclusion on the rights of women and lesbians. Less than 24 hours after the article was published, Medium's Trust & Safety team removed it for violating community rules and labeled it as "hateful content." This came as a shock to the author, considering her background as a graduate of Harvard Law School, a published author, and a TEDx speaker. She has never been accused of advocating hateful positions.

The author expresses her concerns about being silenced and becoming invisible, not by right-wing extremists, but by those who promote tolerance and inclusion. She argues that her article raised thoughtful concerns on behalf of protected groups and that deplatforming her article only proves the marginalization she lamented in her piece.

The author shares her worries about the growing boundaries of prohibited speech and the fear of being too afraid to say anything. She emphasizes the importance of freedom of speech as a cherished right and the need for constant vigilance and selflessness to protect it. Social media platforms, in her opinion, are sacrificing freedom of speech for the sake of making others uncomfortable, even though those expressing themselves have experienced discomfort throughout their lives.

The author concludes by questioning whether she will be labeled a TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist) for advocating for the rights of women and lesbians and whether her next article will result in account termination. She calls for less talk about tolerance and inclusion and more action in practicing it, and she urges for the defense of freedom of speech in a free society.
