Arr, Kim Jong Un sailed forth on his grand adventure to Mother Russia. 'Twas a fine day when he set his eyes on a Russian fighter jet factory. Lo and behold, the factory be owned by a corporation that be in the bad books of the U.S. scallywags!
In a surprising turn of events, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un was photographed sitting in the cockpit of a Russian fighter jet at a factory owned by a corporation that the U.S. Treasury Department has sanctioned. The factory, known as the Yuri Gagarin Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant, is part of the United Aircraft Corporation and was showcased to Kim during his visit to Russia. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov expressed hope for potential cooperation in the aircraft-making industry between the two countries. However, the U.S. Treasury Department had previously sanctioned the United Aircraft Corporation in an attempt to weaken Russia's ability to continue its aerial assault on Ukraine. The department stated that the corporation is critical to the Russian military's procurement, maintenance, and replacement of aircraft and related materials. UAC was created in 2006 by Russian President Vladimir Putin and includes well-known military brands like Sukhoi and MiG. During Kim's visit, he inspected assembly workshops where Sukhoi Su-35 and Su-57 fighters are manufactured. He even had the opportunity to sit inside the cockpit of one of the jets while a Russian official explained its capabilities. Kim's visit to Russia has faced criticism from South Korea, expressing deep concern and regret over discussions of military cooperation between North Korea and Russia.
