In a shocking turn of events, two individuals who were trusted as youth leaders in Florida have been arrested for separate sex crimes involving minors. David Robinson, a 34-year-old youth pastor at Shiloh Baptist Church, has been charged with nine counts of transmitting harmful material to a minor. Meanwhile, Matthew Galhouse, a 40-year-old softball coach, faces 12 counts of sexual battery.
Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister expressed his disappointment in these individuals, stating that they took advantage of a parent's trust to prey on children. The investigation revealed that Robinson had been sending sexual content to minors from January to June, even volunteering at Christian schools in the area. The sheriff's office also discovered that Robinson would start with Bible verses before engaging in inappropriate conversations with the victims.
Robinson was arrested in Polk County and is currently being held at the Polk County Detention Center. Galhouse, on the other hand, was previously charged by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office for sex crimes against an underage victim. Upon further investigation, it was found that he had committed similar crimes at his home in Hillsborough County. Chronister revealed that Galhouse would invite the victim to his home and later took advantage of her while she was babysitting his child.
The sheriff emphasized the importance of trust in such positions and expressed his disgust at the fact that parents had placed their children in these individuals' care. These incidents serve as a reminder for parents to remain vigilant and cautious when entrusting their children to the care of others, including religious institutions and extracurricular activities.
