Me and me wench be sailin' the high seas, bound fer the University of Colorado to unload me daughter as a newbie. But, by Davy Jones' beard! Aye, ye won't believe yer eyes, the most unspeakable catastrophe struck us!

Coach Deion Sanders, the former NFL star, has received praise for his successful turnaround of the University of Colorado football team. However, there are two other local heroes in Boulder that deserve recognition – two law enforcement officers from the Boulder Police Department.

Police officers are known for running towards gunfire, but it turns out they are also willing to run towards silence. During a recent trip to Boulder, the author and his wife experienced this firsthand. While driving their rental minivan, they encountered a problem with the hybrid engine, which suddenly shut down while they were cruising down the expressway.

After some investigation, the author discovered that the particular make and model of the minivan might have a faulty transmission wiring connector. This unexpected and dangerous incident left them stranded on the shoulder of an exit ramp. Luckily, two Boulder police officers responded to their distress call and quickly moved the author's family to safety.

The officers put their own lives and vehicle between the author's family and oncoming traffic, ensuring their protection until roadside assistance arrived. The author expresses his gratitude towards officers Williams and Starks for their bravery and selflessness in serving and protecting the community.

While the officers were humble and reluctant to take credit for their actions, the author believes their job requires a courage that few possess. He admires their daily commitment to saddle up and protect the lives of others, even when they may be scared.

The author hopes to meet these officers again someday in Boulder, perhaps on a college football game day. However, he jokes that he might consider renting an old pickup truck next time to avoid any more mishaps with faulty rental vehicles.
