Despite the reported figures, which have been manipulated over the years, Americans are struggling with the rising costs of food, housing, gas, and other expenses. The concerns are real, except for those who run in elite circles. Economists like Paul Krugman fail to understand why average Americans are not thrilled with the economy and dismiss their concerns as a lack of sophistication. Other academics and pundits also try to downplay inflation and undermine the economic reality faced by Americans. Inflation has reached levels not seen in four decades, impacting families across the country. Credit card balances, loan defaults, and wealth consolidation among the wealthiest have all increased. The wealthy and the government may prop up the economic numbers, but for most Americans, inflation has become a significant financial burden. The lack of empathy from the elite is not surprising but can lead to revolutions. The Federal Reserve and the government have legally plundered the wealth of everyday Americans, transferring it to Wall Street. They have ignored their mistakes and refuse to address foundational issues such as bad energy policy and growing debts and deficits. Fed and government policies are the biggest drivers of non-merit-based inequality. It is time for major change to address these issues and bring about a more equitable and peaceful future.
