Avast! A scurvy dog in France tried to fly like a bird, only to be met by an airship's wing, losing his noggin!

Avast ye, me hearty! In the bountiful year of 2018, a skydiver of forty winters, donning a wingsuit, met a most unfortunate end. As the brave soul leapt from the mighty flying vessel, alas, it grazed him, and but a mere twenty seconds into the descent, his noggin was severed from his body!
In a tragic incident in South France, a wingsuit skydiver was decapitated by the wing of an airplane just 20 seconds after jumping from the aircraft. The incident occurred in July 2018 and has been the subject of a manslaughter trial this week in Montauban, France. The pilot of the plane, a 64-year-old man named Alain C, descended rapidly after the skydivers left the aircraft, catching up with them in the sky. Unfortunately, the left wing of the plane struck the skydiver, Nicholas Galy, and decapitated him. Galy's body landed safely in a field after deploying his emergency parachute.Alain has been charged with manslaughter, with prosecutors arguing that his errors led to the decapitation. However, the pilot maintains his innocence, claiming that Galy did not follow the expected course and should not have been in that position. He also argued that he thought Galy was further south when he was actually parallel to the plane. Alain admitted to not briefing the skydivers about the jump and losing track of them during the flight.
During the trial, it was revealed that Alain was operating the plane with an invalid license, as he had violated restrictions due to a medical condition. Prosecutors have asked the court for a 12-month suspended sentence for the pilot and a fine of at least $10,000 for his employer. Testimonies presented during the trial showed that Galy was the only one who followed the rules without negligence on that day.
