Law enforcement has apprehended one suspect and is currently searching for another in connection with the shooting at Morgan State University on October 3rd. The shooting left five people injured, including four students. The 17-year-old suspect was arrested in Washington, D.C. and charged with multiple counts of attempted murder. The other suspect, 18-year-old Jovan Williams, is considered armed and dangerous and a warrant for his arrest has been issued.

The Baltimore Police Department has been working tirelessly on the investigation and expressed gratitude for the assistance they received in capturing one of the suspects. Commissioner Richard Worley stated that they will not rest until Williams is in custody. Gunshots were heard near the campus around 9:25 p.m., prompting an emergency shutdown and the activation of an active shooter protocol. The victims, who were not the intended targets, were caught in the crossfire between the two shooters. They have since been released from the hospital.

The suspects were identified through surveillance camera footage that was released to the media. In response to the shooting, the university announced plans to build a $22 million wall around most of the campus, along with other security measures such as stationing security personnel at entrances and exits and increasing police patrols. Mayor Brandon Scott expressed gratitude to law enforcement and emphasized the need for national action to address the issue of gun violence. A reward of $9,000 is being offered for any information leading to an arrest and charges filed. Anyone with information is urged to contact authorities.
