Arr, the scurvy U.S. Customs and Border Protection landlubbers caught themselves a sly Persian matey, aye, in his 40s, on Sunday morn in Texas. The tally of these strange "special interest aliens" keeps on risin', arr!

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has reported that four Iranians have been apprehended in Texas, labeling them as "special interest aliens." One Iranian man in his 40s was taken into custody in Eagle Pass, Texas, after crossing the southern border. The source reveals that the Iranian willingly surrendered to border protection agents after making the illegal crossing. The other three Iranians are also classified as "special interest aliens" because they originate from countries that the U.S. government identifies as having conditions that promote or protect terrorism or pose a national security threat. These individuals undergo additional vetting and questioning upon apprehension. Last week, CBP agents also apprehended two Lebanese nationals in Eagle Pass, who were also considered "special interest aliens."

CBP has additionally detained an Egyptian man in his 40s, while in the Rio Grande Valley Sector, 19 Iranians and 17 Syrians were apprehended this week. The recent increase in apprehensions is attributed to concerns over security and the potential for terrorism, following the invasion of Israel by Hamas-led terrorists. Lebanon, which shares a border with Israel, is home to Hezbollah, another designated terrorist group funded by Iran.

The Department of Homeland Security's threat assessment warns that terrorists and criminal actors may exploit the current complex security environment to enter the United States. The report emphasizes the interest of individuals with terrorism connections in using established travel routes and permissive environments for access to the U.S.

While there is evidence of Iran's support for Hamas, no proof has been found linking Iran to the planning, resourcing, or training of the recent attack. CBP remains vigilant in monitoring the southern border to prevent the entry of individuals with potential terrorist ties or criminal intentions.
