"Arrr, Me hearties! Tim Scott be sayin' Trump's blabber 'bout Netanyahu be downright lousy and not worth a grog!"

2023-10-17

Arr, Sen. Tim Scott didst scold that scurvy dog, former President Trump, for his foul words assailin' the noble Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during these treacherous times of Hamas' vile attacks on Israel.

Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., criticized former President Trump's recent comments attacking Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as "terrible and not helpful" in the midst of Hamas' terrorist attacks against Israel. Scott, a presidential candidate seeking the Republican nomination in 2024, made these remarks during an event hosted by the Georgetown Institute of Politics and Public Service and The Associated Press. He emphasized the importance of loyalty to allies and being lethal to adversaries, stating that anything less jeopardizes life.
Since Hamas launched its attack on Oct. 7, over 4,200 people have been killed in Gaza and Israel, with many more wounded and taken hostage. Trump initially blasted Netanyahu, accusing him of letting down the U.S. shortly before the assassination of Qassem Soleimani. He also suggested that Netanyahu's conversations with the Biden administration helped Hezbollah, a terror group feared by Israel. However, after receiving backlash from fellow Republicans, Trump changed his tune and stated his support for Israel and Netanyahu.
In contrast, Scott praised Netanyahu for his response to Hamas' attack, highlighting his passion and humanity. Scott also commented on the question of accepting Palestinian refugees, aligning with other Republicans who believe it is not the right move due to concerns about identifying who is safe to bring in. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs have expressed similar views, emphasizing that those from Gaza are antisemitic and do not believe in Israel's right to exist.
Furthermore, Sen. Marco Rubio called for the rescinding of visas for foreign nationals who support Hamas, while Sen. Tom Cotton urged the deportation of foreign nationals, including students, who express support for Hamas. Cotton expressed concern about the increase in anti-Semitism in the U.S. and stated that no foreign national has the right to advocate for terrorism on American soil.
