Avast ye mateys! Back in the day, when I be tellin' tales o' the second intifada, the cursed scallywags preferred suicide bombings as their weapon o' choice. A grand total o' 138 o' these devilish acts, they be, takin' the lives o' more than a thousand brave Israeli souls.
In late 2001, the author sat with the parents of a Hamas suicide bomber in Gaza who proudly praised their son for killing Jews and expressed their hope that their younger son would follow in his footsteps. The author observed the twisted mentality that glorified suicide bombers, with posters of their dead siblings adorning the walls. The author questioned the parents about any financial reward they may have received for their oldest son's actions, but they denied receiving any compensation. However, it was well known that terrorists incentivize suicide bombings by compensating the families of the bombers. The author witnessed firsthand the culture of hate and indoctrination in Gaza, where Palestinians were taught that their duty was to murder as many Israelis as possible. The second intifada, during which suicide bombings were prevalent, claimed the lives of over a thousand Israelis. The author recounts devastating attacks, such as the one at Ben Yehuda plaza in Jerusalem, where 11 individuals were killed and 188 others were injured. The author visited survivors at a hospital, where they all asked the same question – why? The author concludes that evil does not happen suddenly but incubates over time until a consuming hatred takes over. The recent attack by Hamas terrorists on innocent civilians represents the face of modern evil, and the author argues that Hamas must be utterly crushed and eradicated for there to be any chance of peace.
